Jo Cotterill is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). She has over 25 years of experience as a social worker and also has qualifications in Psychology, Social Impact Management and Life Coaching.
Jo specialises in working with:
People who have experienced trauma
People suffering from mental health conditions
Young people (over 14 years of age)
People with migrant backgrounds
Aboriginal people and families
People who experience discrimination.
Jo Cotterill is a skilled social worker, therapist and life coach with lived and professional experience around a number of counselling-related topics.
Jo Cotterill also runs LifeCoaching groups for people who feel that their lives are "Ok" but they feel like they want to get more about of life and want to live a life that they would love and make a difference in the world. Jo has personally found LifeCoaching to be transformative to her life. She is now a certified life coach.

For those people who participate in group support Jo Cotterill can assist in finding individual counsellors that are suited to them if they need/ want ongoing support. She will focus on finding counsellors who are experienced, available and affordable.
Choose Your Future also mentors other Social Workers to go into private practice and provides other training and networking opportunities for Social Workers in (and going into) Private Practice .

In her personal life Jo Cotterill works while travelling around Australia with her husband in her "Bug Out" Caravan, an innovative off-road caravan that burns its own waste, recycles its own grey water, makes its own power, connects to the internet anywhere in Australia and sometimes even grows its own food. Jo's only child, a son, is at university in Melbourne studying Aviation and her extended family (parents, sisters, nieces, step-sons etc) all live in North NSW/ SE QLD where she eventually hopes to settle.... if the road doesn't call her back....
